Let it ring forever
Poem #114
We listened to Telephone Line through a broken speaker, the keyboard drifted like air, though the electronics hissed with age. We always carried a memento— perhaps harsher days were still to come. Look how many echoes we gave to the sky. How hungry we were, on barren ground, beneath a harsh climate, yet we never felt defeated. Gentlemen, do you remember when we released the dark apparitions from our minds into the world? And they told us our wanderings would never find ours sweet figs, buried beneath fear and the long, empty, ruined roads. Through all those days we felt that fairy tales live only for a moment.

Really beautiful stuff.
