Spleen
Poem #112
At the sight of lakes I lower my head beneath the water, as if speaking my first I love you. The bottom has its stars as well, another sky, beyond all reach. Closest to me was the salt I drank. I stood upside down under a sea of mist, motionless as a statue in copper and green colors. There I saw my own reflection. Behind me the light burned red. It flickered fiercely, then vanished into forever. And I remained there, perhaps for a long while. I didn't counted the time. Only the stars moved freely, while the rustle of words, like a wide-running wave, kept chasing the horizon.
